This series
of animal paintings is an attempt to portray human aspiration to be good and
better. Most of us are aware of ourselves, what sort of person we are, and
at the same time, each of us has an ideal image of who we would like to be.
Then it makes clear what is lacking to be that person.
The process of finding out may be different in each case but we are aspired
to be better person by acquiring what we think is lacking. Whether it's purely
for becoming ideal person or for a job, one can think of at least one character
which helps to achieve what he/she wants.
I have chosen animals as medium to reflect the idea because of their close
relationship to the owners. In my painting, character(s) that the owner wants
is reflected on pet's body as deformation. For example, aspiration to be a
good listener or to have a character of a good listener would be shown as
a wider and larger sound intaking device,
ear.
